About Carp Lake
Carp Lake is a spring-fed lake in Emmet County in northern Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Known for its exceptionally clear water and peaceful surroundings, the lake draws anglers, paddlers, and families seeking a quieter alternative to the busier lakes in the region. The township that shares its name has been a community hub since 1879.
The lake supports healthy populations of bass, panfish, and other native species. Its clear, cold spring-fed water stays refreshing throughout the summer season.

Clean, Drain, Dry — Stop Invasive Species
Please help protect Carp Lake's clear water.
Before leaving the boat launch, remove all visible plants, animals, and mud from your boat, trailer, and gear. Drain all water from your motor, live well, bilge, and any containers. Dry everything for at least 5 days before launching in another body of water.
Eurasian watermilfoil and other invasive species can be spread from lake to lake on wet equipment. A few seconds of care protects northern Michigan's most precious natural resource.
